German student molested by auto driver

A 23-year-old German student was allegedly molested and robbed by some auto drivers in Lajpat Nagar area here, police said today.
Based on a complaint filed by the victim, a case has been registered against the accused at Barakhamba Road Police Station.
The victim, who is pursuing a management course in the city, had taken an auto from Barakhamba road on March 8.
"When the auto reached Lajpat Nagar area, the driver stopped the vehicle in a secluded area, citing a problem in the vehicle. Thereafter, he allegedly started molesting her," said a senior police officer.
Meanwhile, some other auto drivers reached the spot and robbed her of the valuables.

The girl then approached the Lajpat Nagar Police station, but was asked to approach Connaught Place Police Station from where she was sent to Barakhamba Road Police Station.
"We have registered a case and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused. We are taking the help of footage of CCTVs installed in Janpath and Barakhamba area from where she took the auto," said a senior police officer.
