"Earlier, zonal-level facility for correction of mistakes in birth or death certificates was available only for such events occurring within 365 days of the registration. But now, even after a year's time, the same services would be available at zonal-level with effect from today," a senior NDMC official said.
Earlier, if the year of registration exceeded 365 days, the applicants had to get the rectifications done from the Civic Centre, NDMC's headquarters.
As per the direction of Delhi government dated August 27, rectification/change in the death and birth events registered on or after January 1, 1991 would take place at zonal offices of NDMC. However, the matters pertaining before 1991 would continue as per the earlier procedure.
NDMC covers a wide area of the city and has six zones under it -- City, Karol Bagh, Sadar Paharganj, Narela, Civil Lines and Rohini.
