The company had reported a net profit of Rs 49.83 crore for the same period of the previous fiscal.
Total income from operations rose to Rs 650.40 crore in January-March quarter of the 2015-16 fiscal from Rs 641.05 crore in the same quarter of previous year, GHCL said in a BSE filing.
Expenses of the company came down to Rs 496.91 crore in the period under review from Rs 511.74 crore in year-ago period.
The consolidated income from operations rose to Rs 2,558.99 crore in 2015-16 from Rs 2,373.61 crore in 2014-15.
GHCL has three business segments -- chemicals, textiles and consumer products.
