Three persons, including the manager of a residential complex in Dombivali in the district, were booked for causing death by negligence after a five-year-old girl drowned in the swimming pool of the complex, a police official said.
Thane Police public relations officer Sukhada Narkar said that Taniya Gupta (5) died on Friday after she drowned in the swimming pool of the residential complex.
The victim's father lodged a complaint on Saturday morning following which the manager and two employees of the housing complex were booked under section 304A of the Indian Penal Code, Narkar said.
The victim's father, in his complaint, alleged that there were no lifeguards or trainers at the swimming pool at the time of the incident.
The official said that further investigations into the incident were being carried out by the Manpada police.
Narkar added that no arrests had been made so far in the case.
