While director James Gunn likely gets 66-year-old Close attached to his film, John C Reilly still considers Gunn's offer.
As previously reported, the "Wreck-It-Ralph" actor has been approached to play Rhomann Dey. A former leader of the Nova Corps in the comics, the role in the feature is more of a human liaison for the Guardians.
The studio reportedly also prepares another agent who will help Dey along the way, with Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman and Ken Watanabe as the contenders for the role.
