'The Glimpses of India' painting competition which was held here last month, was organised by Maulana Azad Centre for Indian culture in cooperation with Embassy of India. Students from about 1,290 schools across Egypt participated in the competition.
The competition is held every year in Egypt to celebrate friendship between the youth of both countries. An exhibition of the prize-winning paintings was also held.
"The Glimpses of India painting competition is growing in popularity and has become a regular feature in the academic calendar of Egyptian schools. In its 23rd successful year, the painting competition in 2017 saw record breaking participation," Ambassador of India to Egypt, Sanjay Bhattacharyya said.
