Global Nuclear Energy Centre to come up in Jhajjar

The Global Centre for Nuclear Energy will be set up in Jhajjar district to carry out research and development on safety of nuclear reactors.
"While the nuclear power plant is being set up at Gorakhpur in Fatehabad district, the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy, to be established at village Jassaur Kheri, will act as a university of nuclear science," a release quoting Rohtak MP Deependra Hooda said today.
Hooda said in this regard he had recently met MoS in the PMO V Narayanaswamy, who told that all preparations regarding setting up of the two projects have already been made by the nuclear energy department.

He said after the ongoing session of the Parliament, he will request Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to lay foundation stone of the two ambitious projects.
The release, quoting Hooda, further said Union Power Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will dedicate Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Plant of 1,500 MW to the nation tomorrow.
Apart from this plant, the Mahatma Gandhi Super Thermal Power Plant at Khanpur Khurad will also start functioning in its full capacity.
