Officials of GMR, which operates the airport, came up with a proposal to Telangana Government to develop the centre in about 50 acres with an investment outlay of Rs 750 crore, a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said today.
The (GMR) team proposed to build a world-class Airport City in Hyderabad which would create 15,000-20,000 jobs. The exhibition-cum-convention facility will be part of the project, for which the infrastructure major has sought Government help, it said.
The Chief Minister suggested GMR Group to give a thought to develop one more airport towards the North of the Hyderabad. Besides the company can mull over building a modern hospital near the existing airport, a theme park as well as a nature cure centre in the city, the releases added.
