Besides the heliport, the GNIDA gave approval to several other proposals including one on night safari during its board meeting here today.
"Heliport will be developed on a 15 acre land adjacent to Gautam Buddha University. Total project cost is Rs. 50 crore. Six helipads will be developed which will enable as many helicopters to take off.
"Chopper service to several important cities will start from this heliport. Nigh Safari project too has been given a push," GNIDA chief executive officer Deepak Aggarwal said.
"Due to the current land use plan, authority was short of residential land for allotment. Once state government gives approval to change in land use approved by the board, farmers will be given the 10 per cent developed land," Aggarwal said.
