A team of ATS officials at Vasco Railway Station, around 30 kms from here, checked baggages and identity of passengers who arrived in Goa Express from Delhi at 6.30 AM and the process lasted for over an hour.
"ATS has been conducting checks in view of Defence Expo to start from tomorrow. Checks will also continue at Madgao railway station," a senior ATS official told PTI today.
The four-day mega event, being held in the coastal state for the first time, will be inaugurated at Betul-Naqueri village in South Goa tomorrow.
Meanwhile, station master of Vasco railway station P C Chako has said they have not received any information about the checks.
"We have no idea about the checks. The ATS must have done on their own. From our side, there was no terror input or any information," Chako said.
