Goa Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza, who was appointed as co-opted senior vice president of Goa Cricket Association two months back, today submitted his resignation during the Managing Committee meeting.
D'Souza, in his letter addressed to GCA, stated: "It is becoming difficult for me to devote time for the job. Basically, as I am not from the cricket fraternity, some other person could do a better job."
The Managing Committee meeting was held to effect certain changes in the Goa Cricket Association committee.
Manohar Naik has been promoted as the third vice-president. Vilas Desai has been made treasurer, replacing Akbar Mulla, who has been appointed as stadium-in-charge, while Atul Naik replaces Suryakant Naik as joint secretary.
However, there is no change in the top posts as Vinod Phadke and Chetan Desai remain the president and secretary, respectively of the GCA.
