Institution of Lokayukta's Registrar has issued notice to businessman Munnalal Halwai, who lodged the complaint against Garg, asking him to be present before it on September 1.
The Vasco-based businessman filed the complaint with the Lokayukta after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) failed to lodge an FIR in the complaint filed by him.
Halwai had accused Garg of accepting Rs 5 lakh as a bribe to register an FIR in a case filed by the former against another businessman in Ponda town.
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar had earlier assured in the recently concluded Legislative Assembly session that an inquiry will be conducted into the allegations leveled against Garg.
