The Goa government today granted another extension of six months to six offshore casinos in the Mandovi river for relocation.
"The state Cabinet resolved to grant extension to the six offshore casinos licensees to relocate their offshore casinos from the Mandovi river for a further period of six months from April 1, 2018 to September 30, 2018," as per a Cabinet resolution.
The resolution was passed in absence of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who is currently undergoing treatment in the USA for a pancreatic ailment.
Last September, Parrikar granted a six-month extension to the six offshore casinos for relocation, which is expiring on March 31, 2018.
Parrikar had announced that he would be formulating a Casino Policy which will decide the fate of the gaming industry.
