Goa Police today did not rule out possibility of more arrests in connection with the IPL betting syndicate which was exposed yesterday with the arrest of six persons in a beach village near here.
"The investigations are on and we can't rule out further arrests," Superintendent of Police Vishram Borkar said.
Borkar is heading the special investigation team (SIT) formed to investigate the betting racket.
He said police are interrogating the six bookies, all hailing from Mumbai, who were operating the betting racket from a rented premises at Candolim near Panaji.
Police have based their investigations on the crucial 'book register' seized from the premises during the raid, which has several phone numbers on it.
"We will be able to get to the people connected with this betting only through the register," a senior police official said.
After the arrests yesterday, Goa's Deputy Inspector General of Police O P Mishra had claimed that prima facie the links of the accused with bookies in Delhi was ruled out.
But he had said that the investigations would reveal further links.
Meanwhile, all the six bookies were today remanded in five-day police custody by a local court.
