Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters this afternoon that the caller told DGP Kishan Kumar that there was an explosion near a five-star hotel, but the information turned out to be wrong.
"He (DGP) was told (by the caller) that the explosion had already happened," said Parrikar.
Parrikar, who also holds the home portfolio himself, cancelled a meeting and rushed to the site.
The Chief Minister said the call could be linked to the arrival of USA Navy's ship 'US Gridley' which has docked at Mormugao Port Trust harbour.
