GOC-in-C Western Command reviews security along IB

The General Officer Commanding in Chief of the Western Command Lt Gen JS Cheema today reviewed the security arrangements in Jammu and Samba districts.
"The officiating Army Commander of Western Command Lt Gen JS Cheema reviewed the security arrangements at Samba and Jammu areas of the Rising Star Corps," a Defense spokesman said.
He said the army commander carried out an aerial and ground reconnaissance of the areas along the International Border.
While interacting with the troops, he praised their contribution for thwarting the nefarious designs of terrorists and anti-national elements, the spokesman said.
"Cheema exhorted the troops to remain vigilant, especially in light of the forthcoming Independence Day," he said.

The Lt Gent also reviewed the operational preparedness of the formations, besides taking stock of the security arrangements.
He expressed satisfaction at the security arrangements in vogue in the region, the spokesman added.
