Godowns, shops gutted in fire in Loha Mandi area of Indore

Five timber godowns and as many shops were gutted in a fire in Loha Mandi area here today, destroying property worth lakhs of rupees, police said.
The fire started at a mattress shop and soon spread to other shops and godowns, destroying goods worth lakhs of rupees, Juni Indore police station in-charge Pavan Singhal said.
As the lane where these shops are located is narrow, fire brigade vehicles found it difficult to reach the spot. A JCB machine was deployed to make way for the fire tenders.
Fire fighters took nearly eight hours to put out the blaze completely.
Nobody was injured in the fire, Singhal said.
