With the Opposition Congress claiming that Good Governance Associates were linked to RSS, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the professionals are neither part of any government programme nor they interfere in the functioning of the administration.
"Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates is not a government programme. They are here to assist me," he said, replying to the discussion on Governor's address in the Haryana Assembly.
On Congress members saying CMGGAs were linked to the RSS, the chief minister said, "I have already said if am here, it is because of the RSS."
He said the professionals have been appointed for a year and thereafter, it would be reviewed whether their services will be continued.
As per the Haryana government, the associates were appointed with the "objective of ensuring good governance and transparency in the working of the district administration".
On the mining issue, Khattar said he was ready to look into any complaint regarding mining mafia.
He said Fatehabad has become the first stray cattle-free district and rural areas of 14 districts have been declared open defecation-free.
Toilet facility has been provided in about 90 per cent houses, he added.
