Government engineer arrested for taking bribe

A government engineer was arrested today for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a contractor in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district to approve his pending bills.
Prem Kumar Executive Engineer (Civil) in Ajmer Vidhyut Vitran Nigam Ltd and posted in Jhunjhunu, had demanded the bribe from contractor Ramesh Kumar for passing his pending bills, IG ACB Smita Srivastava said here.
After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused caught while accepting the bribe, she said.
