Government machinery begins work to organise 2015 Kumbh Mela

Collector of Nashik, Vilas Patil assured sadhus and mahants headed by Mahant Gyandas Maharaj, president of the All India Akhada Parishad that the district administration would make proper plans for the forthcoming Nashik and Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela slated for July 14, 2015.
He was speaking at a meeting of mahants and sadhus of various akhadas held here today, which was attended by the police commissioner and other officials.
Patil said that the government machinery has already begun work to organise the Kumbh Mela.
An apex committee has also granted its permission to the draft Kumbh Mela programme, he said adding that plans have been drawn up for "parvanis" where mahants, sadhus would take a "royal bath" after reaching the holy river at both Trimbakeshwar and Nashik in a procession.
