Govt congratulates candidates for qualifying civil services

The government has congratulated over 1,100 successful candidates for qualifying the prestigious civil services examination.
"Congratulations on your success in the Civil Services Examination 2013," Minister of State for personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said.
"We in Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) greet all of you on choosing a career in the prestigious civil services and hope that you will live up to the expectations and aspirations of the citizens of India," he said in a message.
As many as 1,122 candidates have been recommended for appointment in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services on the basis of the Civil Services Examination, 2013.
The exams' results were declared on Thursday by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Rajasthan's Gaurav Agrawal, who has already been selected in 2012 civil services examination and undergoing training for IPS at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad, has got first rank in the 2013 exams.
Delhi's Munish Sharma has secured second position and Rachit Raj, who hails from Daltonganj in Jharkhand and lives in Ghaziabad, has come third.
