Govt,corporates need to work together for inclusive growth:NRN

Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy today said corporates, civil society and governments need to work in tandem to make India an inclusive economy and must bring the people with disabilities into the mainstream to achieve the same.
"It is difficult to imagine India becoming a strong economy without becoming an inclusive economy - an economy which is inclusive in gender, ability, ethnicity and all other social parameters. People with disabilities have to be integrated with the mainstream," Murthy said at a 'Limca Book of Records' event.
He said that people with disabilities will have to be integrated with the mainstream of the society and the governments, corporate houses and civil societies should come together to accomplish the vision of an accessible India.

He also co-signed a petition to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment asking them to make "sign language" as an official language by including it in the 'Eighth Schedule' of Parliament.
Other signatories to the petition included Venkatesh Kini, President Coca-Cola India and South West Asia.
"As publishers of 'Limca Book of Records' and as a responsible corporate, we are committing ourselves to tutor introductory sign language lessons to 10,000 people," he said.
Kini further said: "Coca-Cola India will work with its allies, partners, vendors and suppliers to make buildings, inclusive and disabled friendly.
