Heads of various government departments, including trade tax, excise and transport, have been instructed to ensure achievement of revenue targets and transparent working, District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma said today.
The DM today held a meeting with all heads of the government departments and the instructions were issued to the officials during the meeting.
"Heads of trade tax, transport, excise, electricity and revenue departments have been instructed to accelerate their pace and achieve the targets of revenue collection as perceived by the district administration," Sharma said.
"They have been told to work transparently with enhanced efficiency to achieve the objectives of public welfare schemes so that benefits percolate to the general masses," he said.
The DM also expressed displeasure over slow recovery of government dues.
He said all departments have been instructed to invigorate their enforcement and detection agencies to identify all points in the district where tax evasion is rampant.
Trade tax officials must be vigilant about the entry points of inter-state borders to check vehicles carrying goods from Delhi without paying any tax and impound them, he said.
Electricity Department officials have been specifically directed to ensure cent per cent prosecution and registration of FIRs in electricity theft cases, he said, adding that no person should be spared irrespective of his political allegiance or social status, the DM said.
Road Transport Department officials have been instructed to seize the passenger buses plying in the city without road permits, causing revenue loss to UP State Road Transport Corporation, he said.
Excise officials have been strictly warned to check smuggling of liquor from Haryana and Delhi into Uttar Pradesh from border areas, he added.
