A government doctor has been arrested for allegedly sending objectionable comment on a festival on WhatsApp here.
Dr Yakub, medical officer of government Community Health Centre in Pokaran, had sent objectionable comments on WhatsApp recently.
Irked over this, social organisations demanded action against him.
On direction of the district collector, action against the medical officer was taken and he was removed from his posting and put under APO (Awaiting Posting orders) status.
An inquiry against the doctor has also been initiated, a district administration official said.

The accused doctor was arrested on Tuesday, Deputy SP Pokaran Nanak Singh said on Wednesday.
