"...A communication regarding accounting practices of Reliance Communications Limited has been received in the Ministry. A report was called for in the matter from the Registrar of Companies (RoC), Mumbai, which is under examination," Corporate Affairs Minister Sachin Pilot said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
He was responding to a query on whether the ministry has received any communication regarding accounting policies not in conformity with well established practices being followed by Reliance Communications wherein huge amount of public money has been invested.
To another query on whether the government has taken any decision to assign the audit of accounts of RCom to official auditor CAG to find out fraud upon the public trust reposed in that company, the Minister replied in the negative.
