Govt land grabbing case: MLC sent to judicial custody

An MLC belonging to the ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh, who was arrested along with two others by Hyderabad Police for allegedly forging government land documents, was today remanded to judicial custody.
MLC G Deepak Reddy, advocate B Sailesh Saxena and a businessman R Srinivas, were yesterday arrested on charge of "colluding and creating forged documents" of government and other lands located in different parts of the city.
"As per the investigation done so far, it is revealed that Reddy and Srinivas along with other accused have committed the offence of creating forged and fabricated documents and filed false cases in the High Court and other courts on the names of fictitious persons to grab the land at Bojagutta here," a senior police official said.

With regard to Saxena, the official said he created false and fabricated documents to show that government land measuring 12 acres at Hakeempet village on city outskirts, was owned by Gayam Madhav Reddy, a fictitious person.
"Under guise of fictitious documents, he was illegally trying to step into the government land to cheat innocent general public to dispose off the land," the official said adding investigation is on and they were verifying how much land they had "grabbed".
He said more accused were involved in the cases and based on outcome of the probe they will arrest other accused.

The trio were produced before the Nampally Criminal Court here which remanded them in judicial custody and they were shifted to Chanchalguda Central Prison here.

Reddy and Saxena are also involved in other similar cases, the official claimed.
However, Reddy while being taken to the jail claimed that he was in no way connected to the case, though his name was included in the case.
"My signature is not there in the document and it should be immediately sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory to prove it...Truth will come out soon," Reddy told reporters while the other accused also alleged they were booked in false cases.
