"In 2007, the Sheila Dikshit-led government had announced that the college would have ultra-modern facilities on a 60- acre campus, but right now the students do not have enough classrooms," Bhushan told reporters.
The activist-lawyer said he had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking basic infrastructure facilities for the students.
Bhushan said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had announced in his budget speech this year that the student intake of the college would be increased from 3,000 to 7,000.
Assistant Professor Joshil K Abraham, who has been on a hunger strike for the past 23 days seeking better facilities, handed over several documents to Bhushan.
"Between 2008 and 2010, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) (formed on PPP model) was allotted 25 acres of land free of cost under the Sheila's regime. Later, the institute claimed to have received 65 acres of land and got it approved by the AAP government in 2015 under Phase 2 plan," Abraham alleged.
"I have received death threats for taking up the issue," he claimed.
"We request Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal to intervene and provide a solution for hundreds of students," Abraham said.
