After introducing the controversial Land Acquisition Bill, Government looks set to bring the Coal and Citizenship Bills in Lok Sabha that will replace the ordinances brought by it in this regard earlier.
Sources said government has taken a decision to bring the new Insurance Bill in Lok Sabha next week.
The government is understood to have decided that it will come up with new bills to replace the Coal and Insurance ordinances in the Lok Sabha, even though both the bills are pending in Rajya Sabha, they said.
Government's move to withdraw the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Bill, 2014, has been rejected by Rajya Sabha chairman, they said, adding that government also intends to withdraw the Insurance bill from the Upper House.
Incidentally, the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Ordinance, has been promulgated twice.
Besides, sources said that Minister of State Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary will tomorrow move a motion to withdraw the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2014 in Lok Sabha.
Government intends to replace this bill with a new one, which in turn, will replace the ordinance in this regard.
The ordinance provides for giving life-long visas to persons of Indian origin (PIOs) was pushed through ostensibly because the Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to keep a promise he had made while addressing the Indian diaspora in the US last year.
