"We have prepared the State University bill to set up a state university. It would be tabled in the meeting of the council of ministers to be held on January 7 for its finalization. The same bill would be placed in the winter session of the state assembly beginning in February and if passed, the university would be set up", State Higher Education minister Tapan Chakraborty told reporters.
He said, if everything went in the right direction, the academic session might start by July.
To a question, he said there was no conflict between the Tripura Central University and the proposed state university and there would be no problem regarding giving affiliations to the colleges.
