Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today the AAP government made a U-turn on the proposal to levy VAT on textiles and shoes "as people were facing problems because of the move" and said it was ready to change its decisions at midnight if it benefits people.
Participating in the discussion on budget, BJP MLA Vijender Gupta said the governmet made a U-turn on the matter after witnessing protest by the traders' community.
Responding to it, the Deputy Chief Minister said, "We are ready to make a U-turn even at 12 at night if it benefits traders. People were facing problems because of the government's move and that's why we made a U-turn."
"The work of Opposition is to find mistakes made by the government. But, instead of finding mistakes, he (Gupta) is misleading people," Sisodia alleged.
