Andhra Pradesh Excise and BC Welfare Minister Kollu Ravindra today said the state government will not acquire land without the consent of farmers.
"The government will not take land of farmers without their consent. But the government will take lands for Machilipatnam port and port-based industries with the consent of the farmers on land pooling basis and not land acquisition," he said at a function here.
Ravindra laid the foundation stone for two internal approach roads at Pottlapalem village of Machilipatnam mandal in the Krishna district.
The estimated cost for the work is Rs 1.20 crore.
He also said the government will construct 'pakka' (permanent) houses for poor and weaker section of the society.
