Trinamool Congress MP Idris Ali today urged both the West Bengal and Union Governments that roads should be named after the late litterateur Mahasweta Devi both here and in Delhi.
Ali, also chairman of the All India Minority Forum, said they had appealed to the state government to name a road after her in Kolkata and also build a library as a tribute.
"Mahasweta Devi was a national figure and so we also ask the central government to name a road after her in the national capital Delhi," he said.
The 91-year-old writer, who passed away last month, was also a social activist.
