Graphite India Q2 net profit jumps over 4-fold to Rs 90 cr

Graphite India Ltd today reported over four-fold jump in standalone net profit to Rs 89.9 crore in the second quarter ended September 30.
The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 15.9 crore in the same period last year, it said in a filing to the BSE.
During July-September, the company's net sales stood at Rs 461.9 crore as against Rs 319.6 crore in the year-ago period.
Graphite India is the largest producer of graphite electrodes in India and one of the largest globally, in terms of total capacity.
Graphite electrodes are used in electric arc furnace (EAF) based steel mills and is a consumable item for the steel industry.
Shares of the company today ended up 0.85 per cent at Rs 454.25 apiece on BSE.
