Ramendra Katiyar and other members were amongst those slapped with charges under various sections of the IPC and Criminal Law Act following the incident last evening when they allegedly misbehaved with police officials.
The protesting lawyers had staged a roadblock near a local court and forced shops in the vicinity to down their shutters when police and district officials arrived to pacify them.
The lawyers are demanding compensation for the kin of a young lawyer, Prashant Dwivedi, who was murdered here on April 23. They have staged protests earlier as well. Police have arrested five persons allegedly responsible in the case.
