GRP arrests kidnapper

The Government Railway Police arrested a passenger from Puri-bound Purusotham Express for making an attempt to kidnap a four-year-old girl at Bokaro station, a senior police officer here today said.
The passenger was trying to kidnap the daughter of a co-passenger.
The Superintendent of Police (Railway) Jamshedpur, Md Arshi said a passenger, Keshav Prasad, a resident of Unnao in Uttar Pradesh was travelling to Khurda along with with his wife Mamata Yadav and four-year-old daughter, Gulshan.
They had boarded the train from Kanpur Central station on Tuesday.
They were travelling in a general compartment.
The miscreant, Shatrughan Kumar Chandravansi, a co-passenger made an attempt to kidnap the four-year-old girl.

The girl's father and other passengers caught him while he tried to jump out of the running train at Bokaro.

Chandravansi, a resident of Gaya district of Bihar, was thrashed by the passengers before he was handed over to the GRP and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on duty.
The Tatanagar Railway police registered a complaint when the train reached the Tatanagar Station, Md Arshi said. Chandravansi was forwarded to Bokaro Railway police for necessary action.
The passengers praised the GRP and the RPF personnel for acting promptly in order to save the girl.
