The company has decided to increase its capacity for DAP (most widely used phosphate fertiliser), melamine (used in laminates, consumer moulded goods adhesives etc), Nylon and caprolactam (a raw material for Nylon-6). GSFC is already the biggest producer of caprolactam and melamine in the country.
"Our diammonium phosphate (DAP) plant in Sikka in Gujarat would be roughly doubled to 13 lakh metric tonne per annum.

The company is also looking at increasing fibre capacity to 20,000 tpa and high speed chips to 30,000 tpa, Nanda said.
Among other projects, the company is putting up 15,000 MT per annum of nylon-6 project, 10 lakh litres per annum of liquid biofertiliser and 45 lakh per annum of tissue culture plants.
As part of diversification, the company has invested Rs 100 crore to venture into nylon fibres manufacturing for construction and infrastructure industries.
"We have invested Rs 100 crore to diversify into concrete reinforced fibre (CRF) and nylon reinforced fibre (PRF) manufacturing for construction and infrastructure industries," Nanda said.
The company has set up a unit having capacity of 750 tpa of CRF/PRF at Surat in Gujarat.
The facility also has inbuilt capacity expansion of upto 3,600 tpa and company has developed in-house technology and has already obtained patent for the same, he said.
GSFC claims its a pioneer in caprolactum having 70,000 MTPA and nylon value chain products. From caprolactum, the company produces nylon-6 polymer for engineering plastic, film and fibre applications.
It has now introduced Gujcon CRF-PRF nylon-6 for construction and infrastructure industries.
