Guar gum prices were by Rs 47 to Rs 8,030 per quintal in futures trade today as operators preferred to wind up positions amid slowdown in export demand.
Market players said offloading of positions at current levels in pressure of withdrawal of support by the exporters, mainly dragged down guar gum future prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum for delivery in November contracts dropped by Rs 47 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 8,030 per quintal, with an open interest of 18,825 lots.
Similarly, the delivery for most-traded October also came down by Rs 42 or 0.53 per cent to Rs 7,920 per quintal, in an open interest of 35,770 lots.
