Hira Lal was found dead at the temple by his family members today morning.
One 'ashtadhatu' idol of main deity 'Vasudeva' with sapphire on head, a garland of precious stones weighing 7 kg, another idol of 'Devata' weighing 6 kg, 42 precious articles offered by devotees, 300 gm gold and four solid silver balls were found missing.
Sanjay Kumar, Additional DGP, Law and Order said that inter-state and inter-district border check points have been erected on link roads, all vehicles are being checked, and a forensic expert team has inspected the spot.
Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Dullar, also rushed to the spot.
It is learnt that the valuable artifacts of the temple were displayed recently and their antique value was also announced.
