Guargum futures up over 2 per cent on domestic, export demand

Guargum prices were higher by Rs 200 to Rs 9,130 per quintal in futures trading today as traders were seen widening their exposure, driven by strong domestic as well as export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum prices for delivery in most-active month, November surged by Rs 200, or 2.14 per cent to Rs 9,130 per quintal, persisting an open interest of 25,425 lots.
Guargum for delivery this month was trading higher by Rs 190, or 2.17 per cent at Rs 8,940 per quintal, having an open interest of 3,363 lots.
Marketmen said the rise in guargum prices at futures trade was mostly supported by rising domestic and overseas demand amid tight arrivals of guarseed in the physical markets.
