Guides to help visitors at National Museum

Aiming to make the visitor well informed about its collections, the National museum is going launch 'Path Pradarshak' -- a volunteer guide programme.
"The aim of the Volunteer Guide Programme (VGP) is to help the visitors appreciate the treasures of the museum and to stimulate interest in them," a official statement said.
Minister of Culture Chandresh Kumari Katoch will inaugurate "Path Pradarshak" Volunteer Guide Programme on Monday.
The conducted tour would be of 90-minute duration during which the visitors would be introduced to the highlights of the National Museum through a brief description of the galleries and 30 objects on display.

Some of the artifacts include in the tour are Dancing Girl, Standing Buddha, Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in the marriage procession of his eldest son Dara Shikoh, Buddha and the Six Monks, Wall Painting, Cotton Coverlet, shield of Maharana Sangram Singh - II of Udaipur.
The Museum has trained 30 volunteer guides to guide the visitors at pre-fixed hours, with a specific tour route for the first time.
The guides would be conducting two tours on week days while four on Saturdays and Sundays.
The guided tours would start from Tuesday.
