A poster showing Sanghani with the Congress's election symbol was circulated on social networking site recently with a slogan "Modi hatao, Desh bachao" (Oust Modi, Save the country).
Sanghani's complaint at Amreli city police station said, "I have been with BJP since the party was formed and carried out various responsibilities given by the party, but some mischievous persons have misused my photograph to defame me."
Police inspector U Makwana said a case under the Information Technology Act had been registered against Jamal Siddiqui and J P Sarvaiya and a probe was on.
