Guj Cong to strengthen party's social media wing

To strengthen the party's social media wing ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Gujarat Congress today held a training session and launched a mobile application as well as a booklet.

National coordinator of the social media department of the Congress, Ruchira Chaturvedi, said the party plans to strengthen the social media wing, for which more training sessions will be conducted at the district and booth levels in the coming days.

"A meeting-cum-training session for the Congress' social media workers at the assembly level was organised here today in which technical knowledge was imparted on the party's ideology and strategy regarding the social media," Chaturvedi said.

The mobile application launched today aims to bring the party's social media workers together and help them spread the message of the party to the public.

"Workers will be able to share their suggestions directly through the app," she said.

The booklet, also launched today, guides about using different social media platforms and address security concerns associated with them, she said.

It is meant as a guidebook for the party's social media team as well as for the general public. It imparts basic knowledge regarding the social media platforms and how to use them safely and effectively. It also guides on how not to fall prey to cyber crime, Chaturvedi added.
