Guj: Eight more deaths due to swine flu, toll mounts to 116

Swine flu claimed eight more lives in Gujarat today, taking the total number of deaths due to the H1N1 virus to 116 this year.
Out of the eight, three patients died in Ahmedabad, two each in Vadodara and Dahod while one death has been reported in Surat district, a release issued by the state government here said.
123 fresh cases of swine flu are recorded across the state, taking their total number to 1,233, it said.
In a bid to control the outbreak of the virus, the state government has already cancelled leaves of all health officials and employees and those on leave have been asked to report back.

To find out unreported cases of swine flu, health officials have been conducting door-to-door survey and checked more than 17.5 lakh people so far, according to the release.
