Starting today, police is conducting physical fitness test of aspirants for 8,450 constable posts (which includes a 800-meter run) simultaneously at 16 centres across the state. Around 32,000 candidates appeared for the tests today, said joint commissioner of police Manoj Agrawal.
"To bring in transparency and accuracy, we have introduced RFID chips, which are tied to the ankle of every candidate. The chip marks the exact time taken to finish the run. This data is stored in our server. If anyone has a doubt, he can cross-check it. It is lot better than manual recording, the accuracy of which can be doubted," he said.
Further, high definition CCTV cameras cover the proceedings at every centre. "If some issue crops up in future, we can check the recordings," said Agrawal.
