"Till now all state governments have neglected farmers and in spite of repeated demands, agitations and memorandums, main problems of farmers are not addressed," BKS state unit president Maganbhai Patel said.
"We have made a kind of vision statement for the political parties who can include any or all of the points we have raised in our charter in their Assembly election manifesto," he said, adding the issues outlined in the charter could be taken up by parties across the spectrum.
The list highlights 21 issues concerning state Agriculture Department, besides demanding setting up of a 'Agro Inupt Regulatory Commission'. Among other demands are higher support prices for agri-produce, accident insurance scheme for farmers and formation of 'Farmers Development Corporation'.
Responding to a query Patel said the organisation did not take up electoral politics.
