"We have asked all the chemists across the state to stop the distribution and sale of Loperamide and Leegenta with immediate effect after finding them sub-standard," Gujarat FDCA Commissioner H G Koshia said.

"Tests were conducted on Loperamide, an anti-diarrhoea tablet and Leegenta, eye and ear drops and the samples were found not to be meeting the requirement and unfit for consumption," Koshia said.

According to FDCA, Leegenta is manufactured by Caremax Formulations, while Loperamide is made by Shiv Chem Pharma.
