Opener Samit Gohel (93*) and Parthiv Patel (80*) put Gujarat in a commanding position going into the final day tomorrow, by sharing an unbeaten 143-run stand for the third wicket.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh failed to get past Gujarat's first innings score after resuming the day at 162 for five.
India bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel ended with two wickets each.
