Gur ends flat in Delhi, down in Muzaffarnagar

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market depicted a steady trend in the national capital today with prices after hovering both ways on alternate bouts of buying and selling, settled on a unchanged note.
On the other hand, Muzzafarnagar gur market registered a fall of up to Rs 145 per quintal in gur Chakku and Khurpa on muted demand against fresh supplies.
Marketmen said shrinking of demand amid rising mercury, mainly pulled down gur chakku and khurpa prices in Muzaffarnagar.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku prices plummeted from Rs 2,750-3,020 to end the day at Rs 2,650-2,875, showing a fall up to Rs 145 per quintal.

Prices of Khurpa also faded by Rs 50 to settle at Rs 2,600-2,650 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,100-3,200, pedi Rs 3,200-3,300, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,550-2,600, chakku Rs 2,650-2,875, khurpa Rs 2,600-2,650 and Ladoo Rs 2,850-2,950.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,900-3,050 and dhayya Rs 3,000-3,050.
