On the other hand, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets showed weak trend with prices falling up to Rs 150 per quintal on persistent supplies amid restricted demand.
Marketmen said ample stocks of suarcane and favourable weather conditions for manufacturing amd scattered demand from retailers, mainly caused the fall in gur prices.
In Muzaffarnagar, gur Khurpa and Laddoo prices fell the most by Rs 150 each to Rs 2,050-2,125 and Rs 2,200-2,250 per quintal, while Chakku slipped by Rs 100 to Rs 2,125-2,300 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku 2,400-2,500, pedi 2,500-2,600, dhayya 2,700-2,800 and shakkar 2,800-2,900.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,100-2,200, chakku 2,125-2,300, khurpa 2,050-2,125 and Ladoo 2,200-2,250.
Muradnagar: Pedi 2,200-2,250 and dhayya 2,250-2,300.
