Gur price gains on higher demand, fall in supply

Gur prices spurted by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following strong demand from retailers and stockist amid restricted supply.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also ended higher on brisk buying support, registering profit up to Rs 150 per quintal.
Marketmen said heavy demand from stockist and retailers, sparked by reduced arrivals from manufacturing areas due to bad weather conditions, mainly pushed up gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Chakku and Pedi prices surged by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 2,700-2,800 and Rs 2,750-2,850 per quintal, respectively.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Laddo, Khurpa and Chakku prices ended higher from Rs 2,550-2,600, Rs 2,375-2,425 and Rs 2,400-2,650 to Rs 2,550-2,750, Rs 2,400-2,450 and Rs 2,450-2,700, showing a rise of up to Rs 150 per quintal.
Prices of gur Raskat also remained in keen demand from beer makers and settled higher at Rs 2,300-2,350 instead of Rs 2,250-2,300 per quintal.
Turing to Muradnagar, there also prices of gur Dhayya advanced by Rs 50 to Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal.
The following are today's quotations per quintal:
Gur chakku 2,700-2,800, pedi 2,750-2,850, dhayya 2,800-2,900 and shakkar 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,450-2,700 khurpa 2,400-2,450 and Ladoo 2,550-2,750.
Muradnagar: Pedi 2,400-2,450 and dhayya 2,450-2,500.
